DESCRIPTION:Have you seen this?\nCover of 2011 Village Plan\nPukerua Bay’s village plan sets the direction for the Residents Association’s work with the community\, Porirua City Council\, and other groups we interact with. The Plan is a living document that needs to be reviewed every few years. \nWorkshop to review the Village Plan\nWe last revised the Plan in 2011\, so it’s time to do it again. We’ll be surveying the whole community\, but first we’d like to get the conversation started with a workshop in the School and Community Hall. It will be held on Sunday 30 April from 2.30–4.00 pm. \nThe workshop will be relaxed\, and we hope it will be fun! Everyone is welcome\, young and old. If you live here\, we want you! \nGot an idea of how we can make Pukerua Bay even better? \nCome along! We’d love to hear from you!

Join the group on Facebook\, or email them (details below). \nRat traps and tunnels courtesy of Department of Conservation\, to keen Pukerua Bay trappers for a $20 donation\, which will help buy more traps. \nKelvin Hastie will be there to share his experiences making Crofton Downs Wellington’s first pest–free suburb and we will demonstrate how to use traps and get started. We will also have a speaker from the Kāpiti Biodiversity Project.

DESCRIPTION:The Residents’ Association is holding its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 1 November. It will include discussion on: \n\nA joint New Zealand Transport Agency and Porirua City Council crash reduction study onState Highway 1 and possible safety measures they could install. They have some suggestions and want our feedback on them.\nA proposal for a cafe in Pukerua Bay – possibly at St Mark’s Church\, or maybe somewhere else.\nCommunity-led initiative to make Pukerua Bay pest-free by having traps across the village.\nReview of our Village Plan.\n\nWe will also elect the committee for next year\, and volunteers are welcome. DESCRIPTION:A working bee is to take place on the morning of Tuesday 18 October 2016. This working bee will be focused on weed control\, in particular a follow up to work already started on Cape Ivy control on the boundary to Melody Farm. Members of the regular Tuesday working bee for Ngā Uruora will be helping out. \nWhere and when: Assembly point will be at the end of Muri Road near the track entrance gate (map)\, at 9:30 am\, Tuesday 18 October 2016. \nWhat to bring: Bring drinking water\, gloves\, muscles\, knowledge\, smiles and all important morning tea. If you have loppers\, a pruning saw or a grubber this would help. Don’t worry if you don’t have tools\, Ngā Uruora have a few that could be provided. \nWeather: If the weather looks like not cooperating the intention is to send out a cancellation email the night before. \nMore information is also available on the Ngā Uruora website\, and if you are interested in volunteering for the Pukerua Bay end\, sign up to their newsletter.
