The 2009 school year starts on Wednesday, 4 February - the school will be open for enrolments from Friday, 30 January 2009.
Pukerua Bay School has achieved the Green Gold Enviro School award. One of the criteria was the involvement of the community in the school's "Enviro" activities. The school will have an official ceremony to receive the award at a later date, to which everyone will be invited.
The time has come again for us to start organising our Annual School Gala for 2008, to be held on Saturday, 29 March. This event is our main fundraising event of the year and is very well supported by the local community of Pukerua Bay, and the wider community from Porirua to Paraparaumu.
We would appreciate any help we can get, whether it be a donation of goods/services for prizes, etc., or a financial contribution for sponsorship of events. The theme this time 'round is going to be "Kiwiana" which we are hoping will draw some local celebrities to help make this gala another success.
The money raised this year was spent on Swimming Lessons for the Juniors, and new Classroom Furniture for the Seniors. Next year we hope to raise around $25,000 to purchase computers, data projectors and digital cameras for the classrooms, to ensure our children are up to date with the 21st century learning.

Community collections: Now is your chance to clear out all those treasures you've been hoarding. We're looking for bric-a-brac, books, clothes, toys and items for the auction. We will be collecting all goods from 9.30 am on the mornings of
- Saturday, 8 March
- Sunday, 16 March
School stationary packs can be purchased on Tuesday, 5 February from the school office and once school commences on Thursday, 7 February.
School will re-open on Thursday, 7 February. The school is open for enrolments from 31 January; please contact the office to make an enrolment.
The last day of school for 2007 is Thursday, 20 December.
